Shushank Shrestha is a Kathmandu-born ceramic artist whose practice explores cultural identity, mythology, transformation, and the relationships between humans and the more-than-human world. Working primarily with ceramics, he creates sculptural forms that draw from Nepali and Newar cultural traditions, folklore, and personal experiences, while engaging with contemporary visual culture.

Through the transformation of familiar figures, mythological beings, and animal forms, Shushank examines the fluid boundaries between the human, animal, and spiritual realms. His work brings together traditional references and contemporary sensibilities, creating forms that exist between recognition and imagination, familiarity and strangeness.

Shushank received his Master of Fine Arts in Ceramic Arts from the New York State College of Ceramics at Alfred University in 2023 and his Bachelor of Fine Arts in Studio Arts from Kathmandu University School of Arts in 2016. His work has been exhibited internationally, including at Lefebvre & Fils in Paris, the Rubin Museum of Himalayan Art in New York, Wrightwood 659 in Chicago, and NADA Miami. In 2025, he participated in a residency at Lefebvre & Fils in Versailles, France, culminating in the solo exhibition Mastaka in Paris. His work has also been featured in publications including Contemporary Ceramics in Nepal and La Revue de la Céramique et du Verre.

He currently lives and works in Marion, Massachusetts, where he teaches ceramics at Tabor Academy.
